Media player classic + CCCP is the best on windows. On the 'nixes you are stuck with VLC which has terrible codecs and screws up the subtitles on my newfound weaboo media stash, or totem. You should see the character sheet they made for me, creepy stuff. They did give me bootlegs of some anime called Higurashi, but I'm not really into anime, so I don't know if it's worth watching.
