A Family Affair [4E D&D Roleplay]

Here aspiring creators can lay down some basic ideas of what they are going to do before submitting a finalized form for the viewing public. A good place to get some help from your fellows.

If overwhelming pursuit triggers combat challenge, and if tide of iron triggers bond of pursuit, that could still be a very good combo.

Overwhelming strike doesn't trigger combat challenge (it slides the target, not shifts). Tide of Iron doesn't trigger bond of pursuit per se - Tide of Iron is an attack, and Bond of Pursuit triggers at the end of the enemies turn. However, if you Tide of Iron an enemy who is marked and oathed away from the avenger (an opportunity that will arise more often than you would think) the target must either eat the OA from your figher (who is good at dishing them out) or give the avenger the free move (probably into a flank). So that's a nice combo.

I hadn't actually noticed the execution axe before you pointed it out, hito.

I was going to say no, scythe is perfect, but now I have the hilarious vision of Edain carrying around a ginormous axe. So yeah. I'm switching - but I would like to point out that I'm not a munchkin gamer and I won't be making character choices based on stats. Anyway, updated Edain's character sheet.

Heh, don't worry, there's a difference between 'munchkin gamers' and the switch you did here. Calling that powergaming would be like saying: "Oh, so you have points in the Strength stat? Typical fighter. "

I weep, I weep at my own idiocy, my favoritism, for the end of an era, the fall of a giant, I weep for the lost souls who rested upon it's shoulders, who found themselves beneath it's girth, for those who stand over the fallen behemoth refusing to let it die, I weep, for all who found safety and comfort in it's shadow and for all who depended on it's watchful gaze, in this world full of malice, in this world full of suffering, chaos and hatred... I weep

I still need a couple backgrounds, namely from Hito, Nam, Vesuvan, Senty, and Death. Remember, sandbox, so you can make up random places and people to populate your background.

Also, it would help me if you could post these fluff parts along with your background, or PM them to me:

Gender
Alignment
Deity (if applicable)
Height
Weight
Age
Languages Spoken

It might be a little bit because I'm getting settled in to my dorm here. Maybe I'll be good to go today, but maybe I won't be, we'll have to see.

[edit: also, do you NOT want the backgrounds posted here, and just PM'ed to you?]

Fellow players, please meet up on WC3 tonight, if you can. Gameplanning and Gamestartage is going to ensue. Once we all meet up, we'll head to the IRC channel. If you can't get on WC3 or make it to the session, send me a PM.

We have an IRC channel? What is it?

I'm doing homework for college, so I can't really do WCIII, but I could show up at an IRC channel.

What's the difference between a Wc3 channel and an IRC channel anyway?
Let's do what comes naturally

B.net has restrictive line lengths, for one, Loki. Also, IRC is a bit more stable than B.net, which helps when some of us have random D/Cing problems (like Death and I).

Update on the roleplay: Since most of us have stuff during the week to do but have relatively free weekends (at least as far as I can tell), the RP has been moved to Saturdays and Sundays, from 5-7 PM EST.

The places:

irc.irchighway.net

#ClanVZ
#FamilyAffair

Thoughts on this change-up?

5-7 Sunday doesn't work for me, I've got something starting at 6 every Sunday night...

Welll... Seeing as today's was pretty much a distaster... Here are some questions I'd like answered by players so we can plan out the next meeting:

1. What days are you usually free?

2. What hours, using EST as the main time?

3. What day would YOU like to see the RP be on?
