The Ramblings: Unfinished Memories

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Mon Dec 08, 2008 1:18 am

And I beheld a vision of a man.
His flesh was paler than the Harvest Moon.
His eyes were as of Fire.
His voice was the Chorus of a Thousand Souls.
His right hand held Seven Stars.
His mount was as dark as Midnight.
For he himself was Death.
And the Hosts of Hell came with him.

I am the last breath before dying, the hidden terror that keeps you awake at night, the shadows that haunt you at every turn, the monster that inhabits each and every man you meet, the nightmare in your skull, I am the dagger in the dark worth a thousand swords at dawn, the Pandemonium; forgotten by time itself, the dancer on the precipice of annihilation, the blood pooling behind your eyes, the dream that mortals never dared to dream before, the hub of the great wheel, a pyre in the night that burns so hard and so fierce it shines as a beacon in the cold depths of the Void, I am despair, and doubt, and paranoia.

You have never seen a soldier quite like me, not only do I do my job, I do it happily.
Who I am, Immaterial.
That I am here is all that matters.

The Ramblings: Dune Walking

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Fri Dec 12, 2008 9:58 am

The crish-crunch of sand beneath his boots and the sweeping wind over the dunes wasn't the only sound at this hour.
Somewhere off to his left a lone dog let out a pitiful yip as it's brief lifespan was made even shorter by something bigger and nastier than it. Gunshots echoes from the north and the brief halo of light, a false dawn at this hour, suggested use of fire or explosives in large quantities. That suited him just fine.
They all had to die anyway.

Behind him four figures were framed in a Armageddon silhouette by the events happening before them.
Armed with automatic rifles and heavy combat shotguns, wearing modified combat armor used by the former military power in the colors of the night, they seemed to meld with the shadows. He too wore the armor of his calling, a little thicker and in far better shape than those behind him. He raised his weapon, a Chinese variant of the classic American assault rifle, and took a gander down the battered but trusty scope attached to it by metal wire.

"Raiders..." He spat before taking in the sights again.
"Moving against a group of Flesh-farmers it looks." He let a small grin stitch itself across his face. "Well that makes our job easy." He pulled the scope down and reached for his makeshift re-breather kit. Fitting the bottom portion across his mouth and nose, he signaled with his left hand for the others to do likewise. "Keep a weather-eye for any Wastelanders and for the love of God try not to expend any more ammo than you have to." A few chuckles, one voice more feminine than the others.

"Talon Company, move out."
He swept his arm forward and proceeded over the dune in a Grim Reapers Sprint.
The four followed almost without sound, staying on his heels all the way.

The Ramblings: Framing Armageddon

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Fri Jan 09, 2009 1:43 pm

Await the days of Clouding,
Earth Mother's sharing in our pain.
Erase the human memory,
They know not of where they came.
And though our hearts are broken,
We have to wipe the tears away.
In vain they did not suffer,
Ten thousand strong will seize the day... Forget me Not

The truth is they'll never know...
Behind faith they'll hide and hope...
We'll build them a martyr son...
Sacrificial lamb, the holy one... Truth behind the Truth

The Ramblings: Then...Now...

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Thu Jan 15, 2009 1:57 am

Was I wrong?
Did I make the wrong choices after all?
I can't seem to remember...when it all began to fall apart...

If the gods refuse to hear you honor them....
If you have no woman to love...
If you have no land to protect...

What code can keep you?

What is strength without something to use it for?
What is lust if you are spurned?
What is power if it has no future use?

How can you face the world and its challenges?

One day...
I will tell you a tale full of sound and fury.
On that day, for most of you, it will signify nothing.
But for some...for some they will see what cannot be...
A shadow moved, where light should be...

In the end, what can threaten me?
Certain death?
All death is certain.
Still...

Was I wrong?
I can't seem to remember...

Transmission Terminated

You crack me up.
Play on Motochika...I won't stop you.
I can't even figure out how to get the hell out of town.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The small blade twitched in my hand.
It had been hours since I last tasted cool air against my naked flesh. They had water to spare and for certain I had needed a bath. My armor had been caked in the blood and gore of creatures I had no name for but obscenities, had no desire to know except as dead. The full plate mail sat nearby, stacked neatly and cleaned with care by the remaining blacksmith. My shield and blade had been tended to as well, but the razor I kept with me. Yes, the razor. The old wise man had whispered its name to me in the dark hours before the dawn. He had stretched his hand out and snapped it back as if stung.

"The Black Razor."
He had said. He said a great deal more as well.

I held it now, the moonlight gleaming dully across its sickly surface, as if it drank in the faint light.
The small house they provided for me was in a heavy state of disrepair, but it served its purpose. I had enjoyed a good meal brought over from the tavern, drank at least a flagon of ale, and spread enough coin around to keep people here...for now. I had delved deep indeed the last few days. The horrors I had seen in the caves were nothing compared to the monsters I slew in the depths below that. Slithering snakes that could devour me whole. Fiends with armor like polished obsidian. I drew my gaze out the window and suppressed a shudder.

I turned my sight back to the dagger.
It was whispering again. It wanted freedom, release, to be saved.

I whispered back.
"No..."

He slid down to the forest floor in one deft motion, cutting the silken strings with his blade a heartbeat before he landed.

He sank his fangs into her, he could taste her passion, her anger, her fear.
He drank deep of that dark desire and in that feasting, destroyed her utterly.

He broke the mans arm in three places, throwing the gun into the foilage to his left.
The man screamed and fell to his knees...
He opened his mouth and plunged his fangs into the mans open neck.
It wasn't like with her...there was no bliss...only sweet sweet oblivion.
The grip of the damned.

"We talk..." was all he said.
The man shook his head and wriggled, trying to figure out which way was up.
Against the side of a cave wall, it wasn't quite that easy.

Ideas...Ideas...

The Ramblings: of Grayl

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Wed Feb 04, 2009 2:03 am

"Ah yes...the Cataclysm.
The Great Atrocity...I stood at the fulcrum point of a thousand swirling energies that you can't even name. There, at the center of unmaking and remaking, I was lost. Some say I have been crippled, destroyed beyond the measure of what I once was...I do not see it that way.
I believe I was liberated."
~ Grayl, Black Apocrypha (Unknown Date, Unknown Source)

"I grasped Arro Kree by his face and unleashed every iota of hatred I had against him.
In that brief instant I saw what only gods should see and turned my head in shame. If you think what I have done is horrible, that I am a monster, an unholy shell that should be condemned...you should look to your own first. For all the things I have done and shall do, all the great and terrible calamities I shall unleash upon this world....
It would be far worse to let one such as Arro Kree walk among you."

~ Grayl, Black Apocrypha speaking to Astelan, The Whisper of Hope (circa. AotZ)

"I'd rather fight Lord Exuro unarmed than ever cross the Black Apocrypha."
~ Legion, Host of Many speaking to Izen the Lone Operator (circa. AotZ)

"I saw him drain the life out of a man with a casual flick of his wrist and watch as people killed themselves rather than endure his presence. I've seen The Ascendant reduced to a mewling helpless husk from a single touch and a Hallowed Wrath felled with a wave of agony and despair. I saw the children of the World Tree reduced to ash and the machinations of Lord Kree and Lady Violet undone with almost casual air. All this from one creature....
My god we don't stand a chance..." ~ Commander Hector, Tamer of Forces speaking to (Unknown, Sources Pending)

"Not even devils can cross blades with something that defies reality by existing..."
~ Hanzaemon 'The Devil' (Unknown Sources, Unknown Date)

"There are things in this world that not even blood can wash over..."
~ Khazarch, Avatar of Blood (Unknown Sources, Unknown Date)

"..."
~Janise (circa. AotZ)

"He has the saddest story of us all...
...I'd give anything to set him free..."
~ Lady Violet, Violets are Blue (Circa. AotZ)

"Change it as much as you so desire.
When the clock finally runs down it will all be the same.
The Order falls because of this, and no matter what you wish, no matter when you go, no matter how you squirm...there is nothing you can do to stop it. Yet still you try...The balance must be served, but I wonder...down the road what would be worse? A world ruled by them, or one gripped by us?"

~ Grayl, Black Apocrypha speaking to the Dahaka, Architect of Fate (circa. ZO)

Wrinkled shrunken baby heads...
Poisoned spiders in the bed.
Bath tub smelly clumpy red...
Mommy kiss goodnight the dead.

Stab my little doll with pins...
Make me suffer for your sins.
Once again we shall begin...

Ah yes...The Ramblings in the after hours...

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Wed Feb 11, 2009 3:43 am

I often wonder if would be better to tell a lie than expose people to the truth...
Personally I tell it how it is almost all of the time...the problem is getting me talk about it in the first place.
Yet I find that the truth closes almost as many, if not more so, doors than the lies.
Have we, as a species, grown so accustomed to lies we shut out the truth and shun those who speak it?
Is there a need to build this wall of lies around ourselves so others will think better of us?
I'm one to talk I know, nothing but a mask behind a mask behind a mask...
A man, less than human even because of all his damn masks...that won't even tell his comrades what hidden terrors keep him awake at night.

Is that the same though?
Is a mask a lie, or how we just carry ourselves, express ourselves to others?
Is being cautious and guarded the same as being a walking lie?
Am I in fact that which I despise most?

Can you say to me that that given the choice, to tell the truth and have the world turn its back on you, or tell a lie and have it embrace you, that you would never have second thoughts, doubts, or wonder about that road not traveled?

Is being open about a sensitive subject, telling the truth behind the truth, is that wrong?
Is it wrong if it causes heartache?
Would you throw caution to a friendship by telling that truth?
Is a lie now worth the pain of the truth later?

Answer me sometime.
I'd like to hear it.
As for me?
I will embrace the truth over lies.
Even if the world turns it back on me.

I knock on the door.
She answers, that makes things easier.
I don't say a thing at first.

"Andrew?"
"Bang." I whisper.
"Andrew is that you?"
"Bang." I answer in a whisper.
"Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang. Bang."
I turn and walk away at a brisk pace.

"Andrew? ANDREW FOR GOD'S SAKE ANSWER ME!"
I ignore her.
I get away clean.
My god....the utterly perfect murder.

The Ramblings: A Hard Night

Postby Kaome Sky Deathand » Mon Feb 16, 2009 3:28 am

I wasn't in the mood for his psyker mumbo-bullshit, not that he could effect me that well with it, but the girls...
So I spoke an unword.

It's a curious affair every time I do it.
Sometimes there is no side effect. Slight fatigue is the usual case, which will deepen depending on how much I speak or what I speak. Even what I'm speaking to. Other times I spit blood, teeth, bleed from the eyes, the ears, take what feels like a shot in the lungs, throat, or solar plexus. Even the odd occasion where someone in the close proximity will explode as if they swallowed a pound of syntax or held a grenade in their hands and let it go off.

This time it was the usual, I felt a little tired....like I had run an extra mile just now.
Sod for him...his kidneys exploded out of his gut and his eyes took off like rockets as I followed up with another unword.

Yes, unword.
They have strange sounds and make you do the weirdest faces to pronounce them, but the results are worth it....
Not always the price I'm afraid.
They aren't words...you can't talk in this...well I say it's a language not meant for human...or anything else for that matter...vocal chords.

Almost made a clean get away...
Almost.

The guy had a Jack-Zip and pulled the trigger.
Every single bullet jumped out at us.

I grabbed the girls in a rough embrace and slung us all to the ground.
I shouted something I think.
I stopped every bullet. Twenty-three solid meat punching slugs. Stopped 'em dead.
Between the layers of my armor and my muscle tissue.

One of the women tossed a blade that caught him right as you please in the face.
Twenty-Three bullets....
Throne...I better get laid for this...

For that which I have done in a previous coil...
Or for that which I have yet to do in this or another life...
I am being punished.
Cast me down and out...make ready your wrath and hatred.
For if I survive your onslaught o king of kings...Hell will not be who you pay.

And my price is far steeper.
