The solid ammunition smashed into his armored core like a storm of iron.
hundreds of rounds impacted, his screens glaring with the reports of each and every bullet, the readout struggling to compute the damage being done. Legio ignored it. The Hard-Wired coffin had survived much worse than an entrenched assault on an MT plant. His radar screamed a warning, with a casual flick of a switch Legio sent the incoming missiles dancing away as his interior scrambler fried their homing capabilities. Explosions rippled around his AC as the payloads in the warheads impacted the ground. For a brief moment, the Hard-Wired Coffin was framed in an armageddon storm against the black cloak of the night. The firing subsided for a brief second before pouring on with renewed effort.

Legio disengaged the weapon lock and activated the grenade launcher on the right back mount.
The night gave way to false dawn.

Lo there do I see the Devil, masked in the face of innocence.
Lo there do I see the Reaper, garbed in the armor of contempt.
Lo there do I see the flesh and sinew of all those who have trespassed here, back to the beginning!
The sirens, lo they do call to me...
They bid me take my place as depredations right hand.
In the haunted buildings and shadowed streets of the city.
Where sins are made flesh, and nightmares given form...forever.

The sirens, I can hear them echo across the city...as they do inside my skull.
The darkness slowly peels away and with it gone I am given sight once more. The halls are familiar, for I have truly been to every hidden niche, every tucked away corner is in my mental map. Every room of every building, every street and cut-way across the cityscape I have seen. Every unmarked path in the forest I have trod. Every dank cave in the deep of the earth, every path in the mine and every walkway in the upper reaches of he tallest buildings have endured my presence. I, and I alone have seen what there is to be seen...and yet...still I find myself here...wandering these halls, searching for what...I do not know, nor do I care.

The sirens, again they scream for my embrace.
They plead and tremble and beg, yearning for my touch. Like a lover spurned a warm return for far to long. I stand, having found myself on one knee, though I do not recall kneeling at any point in time. I suck in my first breath of air and relish the sensation. Burning meat. The stench of blood and bile. The after taste of dust and ash. My strength returns with each passing second, my arms and chest swell with rippling power. A great thirst fills me. A dread hunger gnaws at my gut. The sound of metal grating against metal fills my senses. It is a common sound in this place. A natural occurrence to me. A scream echoes in the night as the first victim gives voice to the slaughter. I sigh, my breath visible in the air. I am in no rush, time has always ever been on my side. I know when the Banshees call wakes the dead and when her siren song calls us home. I do as they desire because it pleases me to do so.

The floor trembles at my heavy gait.
It protests the burden I carry, squeals in delightful pain at the agony I inflict across its sickly surface. The sound of metal carving up tile and masonry is a lullaby I am oft lost to. Fleeting glimpses of scurrying shadows fly before me. They know my approach is the harbinger of doom. My signature steps a death knell for any that stand before me...cowering or not. I care not from whence the blood flows, from the source of the screams, from the body in which life is ripped and soul slung free...only that it happens. Only that happens by my hand.
Ah, there...the steady life beat of a something before me. I can see the blood flowing in veins, the pump of the heart. The air around them is changed...I take in the scent. I could smell their fear, for to me it was a tangible thing. I could run my fingers across its surface just as easily as I could take in its sickly aroma. This was the food I hungered for, this was the drink that would slake my thirst. Rarely have I spoken, for only in a dying breath can my thoughts be given voice. So little use my vocal cords have seen my mouth has nearly sewn itself shut. The words echo in my mind and my vocal cords give voice to the closest thing it can manage. A long drawn out grating grunt, like wet leather being dragged across gravel. It echoes down the corridor...

Their fear peaks.
They risk a glimpse and freeze, their mind unable to truly grasp the horror they must see before them. My hand engulfs their face, my thick fingers wrapping around their scrawny skull like a man would palm a baseball. I apply pressure, feeling them squirm. They kick against me, though I am shirtless my skin is more than a match for anything they currently have. Long have I weathered storms of iron and trials of the flesh. The pitiful kicks of a marionette on my strings are nothing at all. I twist, their screams music to my savage ears. Slowly I push down...slowly every so slowly they begin to choke on their own blood. I feel their skull shatter in my grip, like plates grinding against each other. Gore spurts, brains dribbling out over my hand as the contents of the mans head eject from their casing like jello forced through a cookie cutter.
I chuckle.
Rich and ugly.

I drop the cadaver and don't bother to wipe my hand on the stained apron around my waist.
It will only get messy again...

Ah, my tears to easily flow.
For I mourn each falling, dying, flake of snow.
To be created only to fall from your creator and be buried amongst the dead of your own kind.
Your entire lifespan spent falling farther away from where you were born.
No chance to go back, never returning, never going up. Only down.
You can only plummet from whence you came.
When you arrive, it is only to be greeted by those who fell before you...they say: Welcome home brother.
Your last sight is a mirrored sea of nothingness before those who fell after you begin to fall around you.
Until at last you see only the dead, only the fragile broken flakes of others.

Works of art, each and every once.
Shattered into so many pieces in the end.
Just like humans.

A few more days of the Emo, the Confused, and the Rainbow and I am quite likely to become first forum member behind bars.
For murder. For mass murder. With various odds and ends. I've had days to think about it.
Phase three state of emergency. $500 dollar fine for driving.
Murder...or I die in a blizzard walking to a final destination.
I'm not quite sure which is better....

His eyes were smoldering.
Not the kind they say in stories, quite literally smoke danced away from his face and his eyes held the tinge of trapped flames. A slow black rage filled him, much like his fathers. Fire danced along the shoulders of his armor and his jaw opened, teeth bared and heat erupting from his mouth. Powerful muscles tensed, rippling under his skin like coiling pythons. The naked steel in his hand seemed to shimmer and the shield buckled about his arm began to brass. The earth trembled beneath his feet, jagged lines branching out from where he stood his ground. Alone, as he had always been, he faced the creatures down.

You would never hear the Greeks tell a story like this.
For the oldest brothers sons were not meant for this world.

His helm fitted like a second skull, giving him the appearance, the very aspect of death.
His eyes shown out like pinpricks of fire. His dark armor of black plates and skeletal support only added to his grim visage. His tattered cape flowed about him like a dusk shroud, or the suggestion of wings. The sword in his hand burned ever fiercer, the blue/black flame rippling across the metal blade. The shield buckled to his arm began to drip, the skull upon it seeming to scream in silence at his foes. The ground beneath him was back-lit by an inferno, causing the mortals before him to question their foolish challenge.

He spoke only once.
A harsh grating command that seemed impossible for a normal person to speak.
It was as if the dead and a beast spoke at once.

"Aup, Heii!"

And from the ground, wreathed in billowing smoke, came the Hounds of Hell.

He was still shaking from the adrenaline that surged through his body.
Shotgun shells littered the paved walkway around him and his fingers fumbled to reload the weapon. What lay across from him defied logic, but there it was just the same. Small, like a young child, yet gangly and thin. It's skin was green and it's nose long and crooked. It twitched, ichor pouring from its wounds. Only moments ago it had been laughing and tossing all manner of things at him. Odd spiked presents, stockings on fire...It wore a small green belted shirt and cap. It's beady yellow eyes still glared at him in murderous mirth...He tried to breath again...then stopped as the music started up again...slowly he turned and faced the source of the noise. Of course...it would be Rickety Town....

"RIDE ALL THE RIDES! HAVE SOME FUN! AND EAT YOUR HEART OUT ON A SESAME SEED BUN!
HA HAH HAH HAH HA!"

What had he done...

Off the Grid.

What an interesting concept for one to murder time mulling over.
To vanish from noticeable surveillance and possible contact by choice. To rise one day and say 'enough' gathering up affects and walking out the door without so much as a word to anyone else. To walk, drive, or by the gods swim your way out of the area and find solace in losing yourself in the steel of a city or the green of the forest...providing yours hasn't been cut down. Perhaps giving yourself a single opportunity to spend a day as you would so have it, instead of bending the knee to others whims and caving in to the forces around you, be they people, Earth, morals, or otherwise.

I suppose that's what it would be like to be free.

Hello darkness my old friend....
I've come to talk with you again. Because a vision softly creeping, left its seeds while I was sleeping.
And the vision that was planted in my brain...still remains...within the sound of silence.

It seems I'm at an impasse.
A war has erupted in heaven and on the one side I have someone I love...and on the other I have someone I love. This love is different but not lesser in anyway whatsoever. Both sides have repeatedly said I am not involved and yet, of course, both sides have drawn me in. No longer on the sidelines I have to make the hard choices for people. If it comes down to that neither side will like the outcome. There is no victory to find in this war. Both sides will call a truce, or both sides will lose...and what they will lose is precious to them...so much so that perhaps the loss of that thing is exactly what they need.

Stupid reference aside, I do deal in absolutes.
I cannot compromise, even in the face of armageddon.
I cannot rely on anyone, save the strength in my two arms.
To do otherwise, is to invite destruction.

It ends tonight.

Again and again the shots rang out, but even with all his ability it just wasn't enough.

Trying to shoot Vortex was like trying to punch a hole in someones shadow.
The Ex Machina ghosted between the shots as if they didn't even pose a threat. Mechanicus threw down a hail of fire, opening up with his caseless Vulcan. Plastcrete and metal crunched and buckled. The terrain was chewed to shreds, the street pock-marked with holes as the depleted obtanium rounds punctured the road. It wasn't even a challenge, each and every shot moved in a twisted parody of motion, so slow one could argue that it wasn't even moving at all. Vortex moved between rounds, his Dusk Shroud cloak not even receiving so much as a bullet hole. His blade snicked out, he saw the angle of his attack and lunged. By a stroke of reflexive luck Mechanicus managed to engage his shields and deflect the worst of the attack.
Still, being face to face with Vortex wasn't a good place for anyone to be.

Kaelis watched the one-sided fight with mock interest. It was much better when Ozone was the one they were against.
The Destroying angel was so much more of a challenge.
The vorpal blades snicker-snacked and the Gun-bot the voidling stood upon stopped twitching.

Boom. Oh, how the whole world cheered to the thunder of earth's mightiest creation: Elysium. One small spark to ignite the heavens for the heroes, to venture farther and farther than any of mankind's machines. And we slept. We slept a slumber so deep that no one had dared before, as three little Indians were left to mind the store. Mother Earth's final call. All God's creation ending with mere words of encouragement. What does it say? "You're all that's left of us. Good luck. God bless. And Godspeed." Three little Indians with the burden to bear. No more law. Nothing left to care. Just three little souls whose destiny had become undone because there was chop chop chop chop...then there was only one. One little Indian left. One little Indian left, alone with all his doom. He refuses to go to bed, so what does he do? He decides to stay up and play in his room. What nasty little games he would play with his slumbering prey. He was slayer, he was master. He was both God and the devil. See, that's what some would say. He would grow to manhood, a self-proclaimed king. Master of his own vessel. Home to his own sin. He just cast out all who had behaved. Just exiled to the cargo hold to fend amongst themselves and scavenge, feeding off their own. Evil grew. The king no longer wanted to play. So he returned to his bed of slumber. And while the king slept, a whole new world of evil grew......as we wept.

We Fall!
We Fall!
We are finally free!
Free to float down,
on an endless sea.

We Fall!
We Fall!
All around is white.
We see dull light.
'Tis not bright.
But we are free!
So it's alright.

We Fall!
We Fall!
Down we go.
Some fall fast,
Others fall slow.

We Fall!
We Fall!
At last!
At last!
We are here.
You need not worry,
There is nothing to fear.

And yet my tears
Do easily flow
As I mourn each falling
dying
Flake of snow.
