Musicalities

Post by TheIrishPatriot » Tue Jul 15, 2008 8:21 pm

Rawr. I was looking over guitar pedals and stuff on the interwebs, and I got to thinking: "Who at VZ plays an instrument? Do they have gigs? Is it just some dusty thing shoved in a corner somewhere?"

And, yeah. So, do you play an instrument (or sing, w.e.), how serious are you with it, and, rawr, elaborate :D.

Rawr. My dad was in a band in the 80s, so I have his left over guitars...two, both are very smexy. Got a crappy Fender amp :S (FM 65R). Some smexy boss pedals, and rawr. I dunno if I'm any good...might put a video on facebook soon, and Defect and Vchip and Hito can judge :P. I just like to mess around and stuff. It's mostly for fun, the possibility of me getting in a band is low :P.

I've got myself a nice little ukelele. I started to learn however I have trouble tuning the darn thing. So I'm awaiting to buy a tuner before I finally and fully get into it. I also have some skill at playing piano.

Neither are too serious but on piano I can play beethoven, and a random smattering of songs including In the End by Linkin Park.
I'm sorry, were you saying something?

I've played violin and piano since I've been 6; I'm currently 17. Backvocal / keyboard for an alternative rock industrial band for a band named... Oxygen. I have a very keen ear, cannot stand pop rock, rap, country, or anything that isn't musically decent. Bands under the 90's also hurt my brain due to the bad quality of the recordings

I do drums.

And I can do Jingle Bells on the harmonica :P
Internet: Fitness videogames might be able to keep players in shape--but not if they don't play them.

We have a dulcimer. I play violin from...grades 3 to 6? Gave me basic understanding of notes and music theory, enough that I could build on it. Started guitar in grade seven, and liked it very much :D.

Oh and as for taste in music, I like pretty much all genres minus death metal rock.

Like metalocalypse for example.

And for the record I actually am fond of the sappier songs. As well as rave/club/trance/techno songs.

Threeish (Two and change) sets (Complete sets) of drums not too far from where I am currently.
A Bass Guitar (Unknown - I haven't pulled the thing out and I don't recall)
My trusty Flying Eagle for camping escapades and somewhere is that Lyre I made from that generous donors organs....

Bah. I played the clarinet all through middle-school and probably would have continued except for a series of very convoluted and extremely humorous coincidences that led to me stopping.

Also I've got a guitar at home and I pick it up and learn a few pages of my "beginners guide to guitar" every once and a while.

Eh, I've got an acoustic and electric guitar, a bass, a mandolin, and a harmonica. I took lessons for the acoustic a while ago for a few months then went on my own on and off...I'm not that great. I still sometimes pick up my guitars but not too often, I'm sorta learning the bass on and off, I just recently grabbed my harmonica out again and the mandolin is idk...just there in the collection of cheap instruments.

I'm assuming you mean real instruments, and not Rock Band / Guitar Hero. Thus, none
