Confirmation code
Confirmation code
Ok, I managed to forget my password and its taken me a week (or more) to get a temp password sent to my email ID. This was not a server problem, it was me being lazy. The thing I'd like to bring up is the fact that either I'm rather blind, retarded, or those confirmation codes (to check if your a bot or not) are really hard to get right o_O
I mean, 3/4 of the times I tried I got them wrong. Now I know this isnt a big thing, but at one point it really got me peeved, and it was mostly because of that that it took me so long to get back my acc.
Wondering if anyone else has had problems with them, and if they could be made a bit easier to read.

Re: Confirmation code
They never looked too hard in the ACP when I checked them. I spent quite a bit of time experimenting with settings to reach something I thought was tough, but not too tough. Maybe I was wrong.
In any case, I think the bot question does a much better job than the CAPTCHA; so I'll ease up the difficulty.

Re: Confirmation code
Yeah, we're just trying to avoid having tons of bots register. We had some serious problems with that in the past.

Re: Confirmation code
We need to weed out the ones with 0 posts with no last visits. I mean an account named careandhealth has to say something to us lol

Re: Confirmation code
Yeah, but pruning can kill lurker accounts too. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but still.

Re: Confirmation code
Maybe post an announcement that a pruning is coming and give a deadline to make at least one post?

Re: Confirmation code
How about this: You give me the list of accounts, and I chose who stays! Just kidding.

Re: Confirmation code
The simplest way would prolly to send a mass pm to and ask for a reply of if they're a lurker account, otherwise delete any accounts who haven't posted within like the last few months or some other specific set amount of time
May God have mercy on your soul, for you shall find none here!

Re: Confirmation code
That's, of course, a possibility. Hrm.. I will ponder upon this.
