Hero Contest Discussion

The class of my hero seems to be the class of a hero in EotA(didnt kno or would have changed it) realy i designed name and class last, and when i found out the class was from eota i tried to change it and found out you couldnt :/. Hopefully hes still ok tho.

The concept of an infiltrator is not something unique or even originally owned by EotA or anything else. I'd have a problem with your hero if it were a "Niten Itsu Ryu Master" or a "Fedaykin" or a "Mind Raker" or a "Khornate Champion of Blood," but stuff like "Infiltrator" is not a concern.

I've read all of the heroes up to this point, but I won't comment on any individually. I will say though that contestants should aim to create clever applications to mundane concepts. I see a lot of heroes with very generic themes and styles, consider reading my "questions to consider" at the bottom of the contest post.

It's worth considering that almost half of the suggested heroes are related to wind / lightning, etc. Might say that wind is rather underrepresented in DoE. But, whatever! Can't a map survive with all them elements?

Lol at Fedaykin...I probably won't make a hero, I don't have much skill in that department.

I encourage people to provide feedback on hero submissions!
I see a lot of people reading heroes, but practically none of them responding to them, you should be! I know everyone wants to win, but I'm not kidding when I say that if two Godlike heroes appear that I'll make both winners. You all should be working together to make these the best heroes evar.

If it's any motivation, this is probably the last DoE hero contest for awhile. After 1.09 I'm going to be working on AotZ 3.00 and Obsidian Depths for awhile, then come back to DoE later. SO yeah, hop to it, feedback people!

Obsidian Depths is OBVIOUSLY something cool.
I mean, the name says it all.
I hope DoE doesnt completely die out because of OD/AotZ though, but i dont think it will

Obsidian Depths = Dusk's dungeon crawl map. It's pretty awesome (or at least the 1st part was)

Anyway, thanks for posting that thing about commenting, Dusk. Seems like people are really picking up the commenting after that.

DoE won't die, it's by far my most successful project. I just need a break from it for awhile. And yeah, OD is my dungeon crawler, all of the systems are done, I just need to make some hero skills, add item drops, and add the rest of the levels.
