Re: Dungeon Depths Challenge: Path to Hell
Hmm, I for one would prefer the speed we're going at now, as I'm also participating in the Angband contest thing as well, I just prefer playing Diablo over Angband, thus I do this one first
But hey, if my buddy William MacLeod over here wants to step it up, so be it.
PS. Not going to finish off Gharbad tonight. He gets to live another day.

Re: Dungeon Depths Challenge: Path to Hell
It's up to you, really. I can do probably just about any pace, I lost entire summers of my childhood playing this with my neighbor. If Alaric wants to take his time, that's fine, but if he's not averse to being ballsy, I wouldn't mind stepping it up.
And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and beaten and scarred,
Just have one more try—it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.

Re: Dungeon Depths Challenge: Path to Hell
Well. Considering I just died in Angband, might as well step up!
Wait, you mean like the first Step Up movie where the tough street dancer dude went to the dance academy?
Naw, I was thinking more like Step Up 2, when the tough street dancing chick went to the dancing academy.
Mmhmm, I feel you!
/start breakdance contest

Is it too late to post up my killing of Gharbad? He'll be dead by the end of the night.

Re: Dungeon Depths Challenge: Path to Hell
Out of Curiosity, as I can't remember for the life of me which of the goats I slaughtered, and the only other thing on the list I did was the Chamber of Bone, would it be permissible for me to start a new game with the same character and re-do the catacombs?
And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and beaten and scarred,
Just have one more try—it’s dead easy to die,
It’s the keeping-on-living that’s hard.

Re: Dungeon Depths Challenge: Path to Hell
Where be these "Champions" of each clan? I have cleared levels 6 through 8 in their entirety, and have yet to run into any. Are they deeper, or did I miss them while slaughtering everything?

I consider the 'Unique' as the Champions.
You've slain at least one by my count.
Oh, and Archer or Warrior breed to me it is the same.

Re: Dungeon Depths Challenge: Path to Hell
Re-ran the catacombs, found Zhar and kicked teleporting ass.
I also went through the Chamber of Bone again, this time bare handed. Needless to say, I missed the cleave on the big room, but watching the rhinos splatter to punches was worth it.
Lastly, I killed members of the Flesh, Fire and Night clans, as well as the champion of the Flesh clan, but couldn't find the champions of the others, or any of the Stones, so consider that one botched.

FYI, I won't be going back for the bonuses. In case that's what you were waiting for or something.

No, my fault...I haven't been feeling that well as of late.
Anyway...the only two things that strike me in the cave are:
Woooooah!: Find me THE SHROOM TO END ALL SHROOMS! (7 OP)
Reflections: Find the slain Hero, let us know what class specific item you get. (5 OP)
