Not to mention the fact that you seem to have confused this hero's side...

Tristan (the hero created from this base idea) is on the Hallowed Order. Therefore, it would be Vela worrying about -20 death sentence's, not the other way around.

I suggest reading before posting.

I think he did read, but was comparing his idea to a Vela with cage as a death sentence. I think people are overreacting though, I've tried -20 armor in-game and it basically increases attack damage by 80% against you. That's rough and all, but it's not like you can't run away when fighting him. *Shrugs*

I love it when Vela bones me when I'm Stille, that's a real death sentence.

Umm not really. You can just blow it up. Actually Stille is prolly the least affected by the cage. (followed closly by Glyphe, mass lightning FTW!)

I'm curious now, why are all his skills darkness-based if he's Hallowed Order, besides being unable to create heroes for the Bane?

I feel like Dusk should just put this in his signature.

There was a hero (Anemic's I think) of a Dark Sentinel . Basically he was a vengeful version of the Divine Sentinel... Which in my opinion is what Shadow Sentinel is.

Also keep in mind Dusk likes to play with non-cliche, like an evil Light hero (Glasse) so why not a "good" Shadow hero?

If people exist who pervert the very nature of light to their own will to accomplish their goals, then why not somebody who forces the darkness to work for them?

This is not a new idea, here are a couple examples on the top of my head.

Channelling the corrupted power of Saidin in the Wheel of Time book series.
Warlocks using the powers of chaos and hell for earthly desires.

etc.

I don't even think of Glasse as 'corrupting' light. When I first played Glasse (I believe he was my first hero), I had no trouble dealing with him being on the bane and yet using light as a weapon. Last I saw, light was energy, and thus, not particularly significant to good or evil except as a symbol.

And Dusk has already explained that the Order isn't perfect. They've done evil things as well. I don't understand the fuss over Tristan.

The problem here is that you're stuck with Wc3 Lore, where the undead are 'bad' and use 'darkness' as their weapon, while humans are 'good' and they use 'light' as their weapon. This is because in Warcraft 3 this kind of contrast was needed to achieve the effect of the undead beign a 'perfect counter-part' to humanity.

The Hallowed Order and the Bane of Eternity aren't 'perfect counter-parts', for they are just two large armies, that almost accidently run into each other, and have to battle, where everyone uses whatever element they learned to manipulate the most. They decide what side they choose, for example like Glasse, who turns to the Bane of Eternity, using the power of light, or Tristan who is on the Hallowed Order with his power of darkness.

Glasse isn't corrupting light at all. What makes light good or darkness bad? Nothing at all. You only assume that it's that way because nearly every story in popular culture makes it that way (Harry Potter, etc.). Glasse harnesses light as a weapon because that's what he uses, there's no corruption involved, light is by its very definition as hurtful as it is helpful. (Sunburn, anyone?) Darkness is similar in nature, it can be used to hide, protect, guard, whatever. It's the same principle as a bad guy using fire or a good guy using ice, just replace fire and ice with different elemental properties. Voillah.

There's a more story-driven explanation to why certain characters use X power, but that isn't valuable for this discussion. All that matters is that X character uses Y power, and that he/she uses it is entirely independent of 'alignment' if you will.

Heh, I was trying to use pop culture references to explain that you using "good" powers for evil and "evil" powers for good is not a new idea and should be readily accepted without much debate.
